Criteria & Eligibility
Global Citizen Year Fellows come from all over the U.S. and represent a cross-section of racial, gender, and socio-economic diversity. Yet despite their unique backgrounds, all Fellows share a hunger for learning, a willingness to be challenged, and a deep desire to better understand the world and their own place within in it.
In selecting our Fellows, we are looking for students who have the drive and desire to thrive in our intensive 10-month program and who are committed to helping build the Global Citizen Year movement for future participants. Our rigorous application process is designed to identify Fellows with high potential as authentic leaders, effective agents of change, and dedicated team builders. Top grades and test scores are far less important than the unique blend of characteristics listed below.
