Every little thing can make your day
The smiles
The boy who every time I see him makes a heart with his hands
The hugs
The smiles! (I know I already said that:)
The laughs
The kisses on your hand
The waves with the smiles!!
The “beleza” greeting hand sign
The kisses on your cheeks
The “conversations”. Which consist of me mostly just smiling and nodding and trying to ask questions so they keep talking.
The boy who blushes or looks at his friend whenever I say hi to him
The blowing kisses
and last but not least The contagious SMILES!

Observing the pure joy they have caused by things most of us wouldn’t take a second look at…

Each one of these things just happening once in the whole day would make my day. How am I lucky enough to get multiple of these everyday?!
Every time I see or think about any of these things happening it makes me smile. It makes me happy!
For awhile I didn’t know what really made me happy. I knew what made me laugh and I knew I loved making other people happy. But I didn’t know what action or feeling created that feeling of my heart smiling.
Now I do. It is the presence of these people. These beautiful, strong, inspiring people.

Hi everyone I know it’s been awhile! I hope everyone is doing great! I can’t believe this is my first post actually from Brasil!!

I wrote this almost 2 months ago after my first few weeks at APAE (Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Excepcionais). I wasn’t sure if I wanted to share it because I wrote it for fun and didn’t think it was good enough to publish. I thought about it till now and decided why not share it? It may not be great but it’s important to me still and I think thats what part of these blog posts are about!

Here is one of my favorite videos ever. This is Adão he is the oldest student at APAE and will be turning 90 this year! He has a huge heart and the coolest outfits 🙂
